Seminars: Seminars are a test by which any martial artist can measure themself. You go to a seminar either in your own art but given by a higher grade or more talented (or specialised) instructor or you go to a seminar in a completely different art. Your challenge is always twofold. First to learn something new and second to see if the seminar highlights any areas for improvement in your own training. In the 1970's, almost all seminars were style or association specific. The 1980's saw 'pressure point training' coming to the forefront. The 1990's saw everyone (who didn't already do it) adding 'ground fighting'. Now, in the 21st Century, cross-training is the norm for most martial artists so the challenge has changed... It's not what you know, it's how well do all the bits of knowledge that you have fit together and how well can you apply that knowledge if by some unlucky chance, you ever have to. There are FOUR ways to see me at a seminar... |

One: |
I
organise and run open seminars and you are most welcome to come along...

Other
people organise multi-style seminars and I get invited to teach, I
look forward to meeting
you at one of them. |
Three: |
Club
instructors request that I go along to their club and teach. If you are an instructor who would like to arrange for me to present a seminar at your club, please email robert@p-k-j.org or give me a call on 01582 400111. If you think that your instructor would be interested in me running a seminar then tell them about this website. I am always willing to share my knowledge on any aspect of the martial arts that may be of interest however there are some seminars that are popular and their details are HERE. |
| My fees for seminars
vary depending on the length of the seminar, the location and the number
of people attending. However a typical seminar fee to coach 30 people
for half a day (three hours) where the venue is within two hours drive
from my base in Luton is £250. If the seminar fee is £15
then that gives £200 for the club to cover hall hire and show
a small profit for the instructor or club that is hosting me. To read what other martial arts instructors think of my seminars, visit the testimonials page. To see details of seminars (since April 2006) that have been previously shown on this page, click here. |

Four: |
Seminars that I am attending as a participant. |
Five: |
Seminars that are being organised by martial artists that I know and recommend training with, but which I am unable to attend. |
