Internal Martial & Health
Arts Day

Tai Chi is the most widely known of the three main Chinese Internal Martial and Health Arts (Xing-I and Pa-Kua being the other two). The Internal Arts teach self-protection and help people lead healthy lives. Qigong (sometimes writen Chi Gung) refers to a wide range of Chinese exercises that are generally gentle though powerful ways to maintain fitness and health.

You may already practice an Internal Art, you may have practiced one in the past or you may simply have wondered "What is Tai Chi (or what is Qigong) and would I enjoy having a go at it?". It doesn't matter which category you are in, simply come along and have some fun in aid of a good cause.

The events during the day, will be suitable for people of a basic normal fitness level who are between the age of 16 and 86 (or perhaps older).

On Sunday the 18th May 2008, at the University of Derby's Buxton campus in the magnificent Dome (CLICK FOR MAP), you can come along and have a go at the Internal Martial and Health arts for FREE.

OK, so nothing is really free and this day is no different, you have to spend your time and energy having a great time and if you like, we will be accepting donations to raise money for the British Heart Foundation you can give nothing or you can give fifty thousand pounds, whatever you want and whatever you can afford.

The day will run from 10am to 4pm and be split into fifty minute sessions with a variety of subjects being taught:
